Inspiration At Five O’clock Sharp!
In his book, The War of Art: Winning the Inner Creative Battle, American author Steven Pressfield wrote this about English playwright, novelist, and short-story writer William Somerset Maugham:
Someone once asked Somerset Maughham if he wrote on a schedule or only when struck by inspiration. “I write only when inspiration strikes,” he replied. “Fortunately it strikes every morning at nine o’clock sharp.”

As I awake from my years of deep slumber and excessive consumption to begin a new creative journey, here’s hoping inspiration will strike me hard every morning at five o’clock sharp.
